Our Mission
Wreaths of Honor relies solely on the contributions from our local businesses and community.
Our board members are grateful to be a part of such a wonderful organization and supportive municipality of Zeeland, Michigan.
Our Mission
Wreaths of Honor is a non-profit organization that started in 2022 in the Zeeland community. This organization is dedicated to honoring our Veterans by placing a wreath on each Veterans gravesite in the Zeeland Cemetery during the Christmas season. We are committed to teaching all generations about the value of freedoms, and the importance of honoring those who sacrificed so much to protect those freedoms.
The Wreath laying takes place on the first two Saturdays in December. The first Saturday stands are placed at all the Veteran gravesites in the Zeeland cemetery to prepare for the wreath placement. The second Saturday starts with a ceremony to honor and remember the mission of our organization and concludes with volunteers from all over the greater Zeeland area contributing their time to place the wreaths on the gravesites. Snacks and refreshments are provided. All involvement is on a volunteer basis.
There are over seven hundred Veteran gravesites in the Zeeland cemetery. Help us ensure each one has a wreath.
Wreaths of Honor is a group of 10 Zeeland Area residents who volunteer their time and resources. The mission of this group has been on the forefront of our Board President for several years and finally became a reality in 2022 after reaching out to the current board for involvement. Our non-profit bylaws are written so that all board members are, and always will be, volunteer positions.
